Anyone playing Chromehounds online? I recently picked it up again.
So far, I haven't been able to even start any multiplayer games in it, and the jackass that's kicked me twice sent a Friend Request - frankly, being unable to actually fucking play more than just fucking individual missions thanks to being kicked, I don't think so.
Considering the absolutely shitty turn out from trying it over the last couple of hours, I'll probably end up taking it back.
My L Gamertag is Enforcer581, should anyone care. My Gold runs out in January, after that, I don't think I'll get another, just with how things are going at the moment.
If you really need to fucking know, I do have a Mic. (Something that jackasses bio/motto/wtfever says "no mic no play" - considering I was NEVER asked about it, and before I could even fucking use it, I get kicked).
So far, you know, Multiplayer is really the only way to go with the Xbox, and with how things are running, I've been seriously considering getting rid of the thing. The controller slows me down in First-Person Shooters (reason why I picked up Chromehounds again since it's slower than the average FPS) - I grew up in the oldschool, the MOUSE and KEYBOARD approach, the controller doesn't give me the "snap reaction" without going beyond a player.
I do have Halo 3 (Legandary Anyone?) as well as Halo 2, Perfect Dark Zero, and MechAssault 2, should anyone play those as well...
I'd recommend looking at Wing3D at Wings3d.com.
Go into the Download section of "Other Releases" and look at version 98.36 to download, the 99.xx versions have a change in the OpenGL language they use, and tends to run a little sluggish randomly at times.
After loading that up, take a look at the tutorials linked to on the frontpage, and those will get you started. While still not say, 3Ds Max or Lightwave, it's a good application to start with, as pretty much all of what you do in the application is work from the mouse.
At that point, you have a choice in two different rendering programs to use...
Toxic Rendering Engine at toxicengine.org and
Yet Another Free Raytracer at yafray.org
Since the one within Wings3D likes to crash out depending on what you do. You can link Wings3D to them after installing them on your computer by going to Edit-> Plug-in Preferences, and locating the directory of the program. And then from there, it's going everything from File->Render->OpenGL/Toxic/YAFRAY.
